Our children explored different textures, colors, and techniques to make beautiful works of art! Seeing them through the process and how much fun they had only makes the product that much more beautiful~ The materials are all ready!
The girls have been expressed their interests about theater. We built a stage and improvised a stand microphone and G started to sing like a diva! We've been working on Africa theme and learned about wild animals in savannas. We worked on this beautiful silhouette painting and it came out stunning!
One afternoon in February, we started our art session with a question: "Can we make one of our favorite drawings to a 3D figure?" L made a 3D spaceship based on his drawing. I like how he made the fuel with the tissue paper. C made his favorite airplane ANA Jumbo Jet. It will bring him home in Japan next month. C worked hard on the details of the plane. I especially liked how he made the wheels with the pompoms and the pipe cleaners. Look at this lovely self portrait! E used the fabric scraps, bottle caps, pipe cleaners on her original drawing and used the cereal box for the frame.
These projects took some time but we had so much fun together. Gathering the supplies, figuring out what materials to use, trying out to see how each material works together, throwing opinions, discussions and laughters... Altogether made our projects special and we had a good experience of a thoughtful process. |
