Our children's play is getting more elaborated and sophisticated. The girls(3's) started with a train scene. They were dolled up with the dresses, jewelries, and handbags. Another child came up with a birthday cake. They had a birthday party! and they shared the food in the train.
The after school children (K~2nd grade) worked hard on this and created a beautiful piece together. They reinterpretated the original masterpiece in their own language and added their stories in the artwork. The empty egg carton, paper towel tubes, yarns, construction papers, ideas, giggles, busy hands,,,,guess what they are making. It's our backyard playground! Can you see the swing and slide? Amazing!
The children's all time favorite activity is the hand painting. We found a mess-free way that we put the paint colors and covered it with the plastic wrap and then mixed them using the fingers and hands.
Bubble wrap is one of our classic sensorial materials. The children love the sound and feeling when it's popped. One of the children commented that it sounds like rain drops. We pop them, twist them, and paint on them, and stamp them. We are still thinking more ways to have fun!
