May: Bringing Ideas to Life
Our little travelers have been busy bringing their new knowledge to life in the play room. Packing their luggage, checking their bags at the ticket counter, building security check points with blocks, arranging chairs to make a plane, finding their seats using their boarding passes, distributing food and drinks, making take off and landing announcements, and even making a bathroom on the plane—children have been adding more details to their travel play each day! They also added to their Travel learning through Art by making and decorating their own Little Atelier Passports. And underneath all of this wonderful imaginative play is new knowledge they have been building through group work sessions in which children learned about the different components of airport operations. From boarding passes to the Baggage Handling System and the Control Tower, children discovered that there is so much happening for their flight to take off! We hope to conclude the Travel Unit this month by creating more opportunities to learn and explore through art and play.
We would also love to invite any families to come join us in our learning and even to teach us something new about travel! Please let us know if you or anyone in the family would like to contribute to our Travel Unit this month.
