February: Moving and Making

February Newsletter:

As we move into February, the children are still curiously exploring our project, “What Makes Things Move?” After spending time learning about how our own bodies move, stop, and change, we are now moving onto engines, machines, wheels, and marble runs. We are excited to see the children continue their discovery of movement using both new and familiar objects to explore what makes things go.

Lately, we have also been exploring different modes and forms of art. The children have enjoyed using new materials to express themselves, and we will continue to do so throughout the month. It has been wonderful to see them build their scientific thinking and artistic skills through play!

February Announcements:

• Valentine’s Day: If your child would like to hand out Valentine’s cards or treats, please do so outside after school. We ask that these be shared during pick-up rather than inside the classroom

• Monday, 2/16: School CLOSED for Presidents’ Day

• Tuesday, 2/17: School CLOSED for Chinese New Year
