Our summer camp was about children's literature and we worked on these three stories : Jack and the Beanstalk, Cinderella and Where the Wild Things Are. The children made the artifacts and they wore them when they enacted the stories. We had so much fun and I noticed that their props and dramatic plays were getting fuller and richer. The children painted the beanstalk, cut out the shapes to make castles, and they hid their pictures on the wall to hide from the giant just like Jack hid himself in the giant's castle! What is so fascinating about Cinderella story? It's a mystery and a magic to me because I was fascinated by it SO MUCH when I was young (which means very long time ago), and so were Little Atelier's children in 2017 summer! They didn't want to read any other books for a while. I forgot to take the pictures of the awesome clocks and the glass slipper necklaces they made. The children enacted the story and we had to have two Cinderellas. They were very determined about their roles. They did the chores (sweeping, dusting), brushed the mean sister's hair (Ms.Esther was casted for that role). This was our final piece and we had so much fun. The children made Max's wolf masks and wore them when did the wild rumpus, and we also made Max's boat. Comments are closed.
