"Let's do an Ice cream store! Let's decorate it!" C was so excited about her idea. We started to cut the papers in different shapes and made a beautiful garland.. "Red, blue, pink, blue, green, blue, orange, blue..." C made it in a pattern. Ta~da~! Our decoration is done and we made some popsicles, lollipops, and ice creams. The business was thriving! Later we had a banker who made money for the store and the customers and ice cream factory.
We had a busy month exploring the famous arts and landmarks in Europe. Europe theme was fun. The children loved to learn about the Eiffel Tower in Paris, Big Ben in London, the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy. Guess what we are doing! We are the little Michelangelo! How was it like painting on the ceiling? It was fun but we all agreed that it was not easy thing to do. Our children's train set play has really advanced in complexity and imagination over time. One by one, they are adding different materials to the train set to make a whole town! It started with building a tower, the train tracks were added, and the cars were brought out. Then the children added the high way, small roads, and big roads... They even made a hospital for the injured people from a car accident.
I was amazed at the children's detailed ideas, and how carefully they depicted and elaborated what they saw by building the structures. They were all soaked in their ideas and amazed at their own work. |
